Introduction
Humiliating the public was an important tactic of “Covid-19” psychological warfare. The most obvious way this worked was through the imposition of degrading, medically senseless mask mandates that engaged the public in a mass humiliation ritual.
Enforced mask wearing has unavoidable connotations of slavery historically, is part of the master-slave relationship in BDSM, and was used during “Covid” to delineate social hierarchies and class distinctions.
Totalitarianism historically involves the humiliating belief in absurdities, but so too does belief in the “moon landings” and the official “9/11” narrative. In other words, the same technique has long been practiced in the West.
The “Covid-19” narrative was absurd on multiple levels, yet still the public played along with it, thus participating in its own humiliation. History teaches that when a society consents to believing in absurdities, it becomes incapable of resisting evil, and the same was true again with respect to the mass atrocities perpetrated in 2020/21.
Mask Wearing as Public Humiliation Ritual
The French philosopher Jacques Ellul (1965, p. 311) once wrote that keeping a prisoner in a “situation of inferiority and humiliation” was aimed “not at destroying him but at reconstructing him.” If humiliation involves a loss of respect for oneself, then it follows that a humiliated subject will be more likely to take their cue from someone else. Humiliation thus becomes a tool for fashioning compliance.
In the “Covid-19” context, mask wearing represented a public humiliation ritual, as some critics realised at the time. According to Geddes (2021), for instance, enforced mask wearing represented “a humiliation and submission ritual historically used for slaves, and is deeply harmful to the human psyche.” Wright (2020) likened face masks to muzzles which put the wearer “in a state of humiliation, like dogs not trusted off our leads.”
Absurd, anti-scientific “mask on, mask off” demands were evidently designed to undermine the dignity of those who complied with them. In pubs and restaurants, for example, patrons were expected to put a face mask on to enter the establishment and walk a short distance to their table, then were “allowed” to take it off again at the table, but were expected to wear it again when leaving the table, only to be “allowed” to take it off again outside. Did the virus only move around at head height (i.e. when not seated)? Or do aerosols spread throughout an enclosed space, as per government guidelines about opening windows (Harwood-Baynes, 2021)? The whole charade was deliberately absurd and degrading.
In other countries, mask mandates were used to induce similarly degrading behaviour. In Malta, Spain, and Greece, for instance, masks were made mandatory outdoors despite this being a scientific absurdity (Rancourt, 2021, p. 15). In Spain, people were photographed wearing masks while swimming in the sea; some were willing to accept mask tan lines as the price of being “allowed” to sunbathe. In Australia, a man was photographed wearing a welder’s helmet to buy beer – an ironic gesture, perhaps, but still signaling compliance (Smith, 2021). Mexican researchers produced a nose-only mask, claiming it reduces the risk of infection with “Covid-19” during eating and drinking (“Nose Mask,” 2023), and similar masks were also worn in South Korea (Blair, 2022). Face masks with a zip in the middle were produced for the same purpose, as were face masks specially designed for eating (“Eating with a Mask on,” 2023).
None of this was about keeping people safe; masks are harmful (Anderson, 2023; Kisielinski et al., 2021). Rather, it was about ritual humiliation, showing the extreme lengths to which people would go to “follow the rules.”
Ironically, those who denigrated dissenters as “tinfoil hat wearers” were the first to put on the scientifically senseless masks and visors for imaginary protection against an imaginary threat.
Other measures which people took in the name of “staying safe” were no less degrading, e.g. cutting hair through an umbrella top with arm- and eye holes cut out, walking around with a 2-metre stick to make others keep their distance, covering one’s family in plastic sheets to go out in public, masking animals, taping off park benches and playgrounds, wearing “helicopter” hats, etc. (“Covidiot Compilation for your Enjoyment,” 2021; “How People Behaved in 2020,” 2023; “Helicopter Hats,” 2023).
Once it became apparent that the public was willing to submit to the humiliation of mask wearing, more than one mask was recommended for additional mockery. Double masking was in place at President Biden’s thinly attended inauguration ceremony, for instance (Hall & Gulland, 2021; “Biden’s Empty Inauguration,” 2023). NIH Director Anthony Fauci claimed on January 25, 2021, that double-masking “just makes common sense” (cited in Stieg, 2021). The CDC recommended double mask wearing in February 2021 (Brooks et al., 2021). Public Health England’s Susan Hopkins recommended “at least two layers and ideally three layers in a mask” to “reduce the virus transmission both from you to others and others to you” (cited in Smith, 2021).
In these recommendations, no consideration was given to how to breathe properly with airways covered, or where exhaled pathogens are meant to go. In a simple yet powerful experiment, Bryam Bridle put on five face masks (fifteen layers) – far more than anything hitherto recommended – yet effortlessly breathed condensation onto his glasses held in front of the masks (“Dr. Bryam Bridle clearly demonstrates the useless nature of masks,” 2021). It was obvious that masks did not prevent aerosols from escaping, as numerous online videos confirmed (“Mask Test,” 2021; “How’s your mask?,” 2021; “Breath through face masks,” 2023; “Dr uses vape clouds to illustrate how masks do not work,” 2020). Yet, people still wore them, sometimes for hours at a time, thus playing their part in a theatre of the absurd.
As though to signal the hellish dystopia that medically senseless mask wearing could become, the World Economic Forum promoted “smart masks” with microphones inside capable of translating speech into text on a smart device – ostensibly in the name of helping the deaf (“WEF Mask with Microphone,” 2023). The common sense alternative would be for the speaker to take off the mask and talk normally.
The WEF also promoted masks that can diagnose the wearer with “Covid-19” and send the result to a smart device (Trafton, 2021; Hyysalo et al., 2022; Li et al., 2023) — the ultimate in self-enslavement.
Masks, Masters, and Slaves
Historically, enforced mask wearing is associated with slavery (Smithfield, 2017). For example, below is a description of the “dirt eater” mask:
These torturous metal contraptions fit over the slave’s head and had an attached mouth insert, much like a bit attached to a bridle to control a horse, grossly interfering with the proper intake of food, water, and other substances [...]. Extreme hardships resulted from this punishment as enslaved persons had to struggle to breathe while wearing these devices. Moreover, these metal apparatuses rubbed against the slave’s skin and teeth, causing further pain and additional medical problems. But convinced of the injurious effects of their slaves eating dirt, owners nonetheless justified these threatening methods to curb their slaves’ appetites. (Stephens Nuwer, 2016, p. 145)
“Covid-19” face masks were not made of metal and were removable by the wearer. Yet, they, too, impeded breathing and were associated with additional potential health risks, e.g. from inhaling pathogens that collect on the inside of the mask (Kisielinski et al., 2021). They, too, lacked any convincing justification for their use, as reflected in, for instance, the failure of the UK government to produce a risk assessment for mask mandates.
It did not escape critics’ attention that “Covid-19” face masks called the traditions of slavery to mind, viz. Strongman’s (2021) observation that “The mandatory use of face masks during the current health panic fashions the citizenry as slaves.”
Masks in BDSM are about establishing a master-slave relationship. For example, “the submissive gimp mask heightens the fantasy of helplessness, feelings of debasement and being at the mercy of a dominant top”; it is “a device or symbol of submission” associated with “the theatre of masters and slaves” (Needham, 2014, pp. 151-7).
In the “Covid-19” context, Strongman (2021) writes that
Masks are the lurid fetish of power. Given that face masks feature prominently in bondage and sado-masochism (BDSM) role play, which is invested in master-slave dynamics, can we not see the powerful psychological element of subjugation that they represent for those who are forced to wear them? Can we consider the perverted delight that the sight of these mask wearers brings to the schemers of these policies?
Indeed, it seems likely that those behind the mask mandates derived some kind of sadistic thrill from seeing the public in masks, knowing that it was a marker of submission.
The “Covid-19” theatre of masters and slaves saw the ruling class free not to wear masks (apart from in photo shoots) while forcing servants to wear them. This was seen, for instance, in the “obnoxious and arrogant display of the G7 leaders, their partners and guests, being tended by the masked ‘slaves’” at the 2021 summit (Scott, 2021b). Greenwald (2021), drawing on examples from the US, refers to “the masking of the servant class,” involving “two distinct classes of people: those who remain maskless as they are served, and those they employ as their servants who must have their faces covered at all times.” Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also referred to the masked “servant class” (“Ron DeSantis blasts mask hypocrisy of elites,” 2021). When Klaus Schwab met Chinese Premier Li Qiang in June 2023, a photograph emerged of 18 senior officials all in masks, while Schwab and Qiang remained maskless – an obvious illustration of the face mask as a symbol of subordination (“Chinese premier meets with executive chairman of WEF,” 2023).
The Humiliating Belief in Absurdities
The ultimate expression of totalitarian power is to make the people believe in things that are flagrantly untrue; the state alone determines what is true. For example, Arendt (1962, p. 373) writes of the Soviet Union:
Only terror could rely on mere fiction, and even the terror-sustained lying fictions of totalitarian regimes have not yet become entirely arbitrary [...] It takes power, not propaganda skill, to circulate a revised history of the Russian Revolution in which no man by the name of Trotsky was ever commander-in-chief of the Red Army.
In the West, social control mechanisms relied less on physical violence and terror than on novel forms of psychological manipulation. Nevertheless, the ambition to create “entirely arbitrary” forms of “lying fictions” was pursued after 1945.
That ambition was given literary expression in Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-four (1949), in which the protagonist, Winston Smith, confronted by his worst fear of being eaten alive by rats in Room 101, finally caves in, pledging his loyalty to the Party and accepting that 2+2=5 (Orwell, 1984). Here, totalitarian “lying fictions” have been pushed to their logical limit, i.e. belief in absurdity.
Bertrand Russell (1952, p. 30) dreamt of something similar in his vision of a scientific dictatorship: “The social psychologists of the future will have a number of classes of school children on whom they will try different methods of producing an unshakable conviction that snow is black.”
US Senator Jack Tenny, who directed the official investigation of the alleged Communist conspiracy in California in the 1950s, wrote in his report, Mind-washing in America (1953):
Under ordinary circumstances the efforts of a small, almost infinitesimal fraction of society to brainwash the overwhelming majority of its citizens or build insane asylums for them would be incredible and fantastically funny. But these are not ordinary circumstances or ordinary times. We are in the age of Great Delusions – when black appears white, and white appears black – when the sane are made to appear insane and the insane act as the world psychiatrists […] (cited in Scott, 2021a).
Although Tenny was referring to the political abuse of psychiatry in the Soviet Union (cf. Hughes, 2024, pp. 200-202), the UN World Federation of Mental Health was led by a Rockefeller man and former Tavistock Institute director, John Rawlings Rees, who saw psychiatry as a means of social control rather than healing (Hughes, 2024, pp. 49-50). On both sides of the “Iron Curtain,” then, there were similar aspirations for “world psychiatry.” Indeed, 1953 (the year of Tenny’s report) was the same year that MKULTRA – the “mind-washing” project par excellence – was initiated.
If anything, the West’s ability to “brainwash the overwhelming majority of its citizens” proved more powerful. As a Soviet correspondent based for five years in the United States is reputed to have said,
I have the greatest admiration for your propaganda. Propaganda in the West is carried out by experts who have had the best training in the world – in the field of advertising – and have mastered the techniques with exceptional proficiency [...] Yours are subtle and persuasive; ours are crude and obvious [...] I think that the fundamental difference between our worlds, with respect to propaganda, is quite simple. You tend to believe yours [...] and we tend to disbelieve ours.” (cited in Karilawang, 2004, p. 339)
Thus, whereas Soviet propaganda was crude and easy to see through, most people in the West genuinely believed, say, the “Truman Doctrine,” i.e., that the United States and its allies acted to defend “freedom” and “democracy.” They believed that there was a Manichean division between the fundamental goodness of “Western civilization” and the godless tyranny on the other side of the “Iron Curtain.”
Such ideas appear ridiculous in light of the documented history of post-1945 US imperialism and its collaboration with the Soviet bureaucracy to suppress international class conflict (Hughes, 2024b, Chaps. 5 & 6).
When major protests in Paris and Prague in the spring of 1968 threatened social order in both “East” and “West,” the push for a single world government was accelerated through agendas such as environmentalism and the “limits to growth” (based on the myth of global overpopulation), as well as new institutions such as the Club of Rome, the World Economic Forum, and the Trilateral Commission.
Meanwhile, the “Cold War” appearance of fundamental ideological opposition was rigorously maintained.
The defining moment in the creation of “global consciousness” was the alleged moon landings of 1969-1972. According to Sibrell (2021), the first of these was actually filmed in the first week of June 1968, which fits the timeline of the crisis unfolding with the Paris protests, which began in early May 1968. The Prague Spring intensified in April 1968, the same month the Club of Rome was founded.
Anyone who has investigated the moon landings with any degree of seriousness will know what a preposterous proposition they are. This is not the place to get into the details of the debate, but when it comes to Alan Shepard purportedly playing golf on the moon in a rigid astronaut suit in 1971 (Howell, 2021), or the Lunar Roving Vehicle being used to stage what its supposed driver (fixed rigidly in position) called a “grand prix” in 1972 while kicking up particles that met air resistance (“Apollo 16 Lunar Rover "Grand Prix,” 2020), the elements of mockery become impossible to overlook. Who could possibly believe such nonsense?
At no point has the Soviet Union/Russia, or indeed any other government, challenged the “moon landings” narrative, even though proof of obvious fakery could, theoretically, be leveraged to create a geopolitical advantage. This goes to show that all states have, from the beginning, been invested in the “global consciousness” created by that narrative and the world state towards which it is meant to lead.
KGB defector Yuri Bezmenov claimed of brainwashed people in 1984: “You cannot change their mind even if you expose them to authentic information. Even if you prove that white is white and black is black, you still cannot change their basic perception and their logic of behaviour” (cited in Ratner, 2023). This is an apt description of cognitive dissonance.
Bezmenov’s position was presented in the West as though brainwashing were only practiced by official enemies. Yet, who in the West doubted that “their” civilization was the most advanced, that capitalism ultimately benefitted everyone, that the United States acted to defend freedom and democracy, etc.?
So entrenched were such beliefs that the end of the Cold War was heralded, with much fanfare, as the “End of History” (Fukuyama, 1989), as though there were “no alternative” to the propaganda.
There is something humiliating about believing in narratives that are obvious nonsense. Upon the demise of the Soviet Union, Anthony Daniels (1991, p. 93) reflected that
[W]ithin an established totalitarian regime the purpose of propaganda is not to persuade, much less to inform, but rather to humiliate. From this point of view, propaganda should not approximate the truth as closely as possible. On the contrary, it should do as much violence to it as possible. For by endlessly asserting what is blatantly untrue, by making such untruth ubiquitous and unavoidable, and finally by insisting that everyone publicly acquiesce in it, the regime displays its power and reduces individuals to nullities.
Indeed, one of the hallmarks of a totalitarian regime is to humiliate its citizens into compliance with whatever version of “the truth” it wants to present.
“9/11” as Public Humiliation Ritual
“9/11” was a public humiliation ritual. The official narrative is not merely false, it is absurd and ridiculous (Corbett, 2011; Hughes, 2021). The public is expected to believe that 19 young men armed only with box cutters, directed by a man on a dialysis machine in a cave fortress in Afghanistan, were able to destroy three skyscrapers (as well as other buildings) using only two planes.
The upper floors of the Twin Towers supposedly accelerated through the lower floors (the path of maximum resistance), while somehow also destroying the 47 massive interlocking steel box columns at the core of each tower.
With the Twin Towers having been struck, Flight 77 was allowed to fly around in some of the world’s most heavily defended airspace for 45 minutes, before its alleged pilot, Hani Hanjour (who who was barely able to fly a single-engine Cessna), proved able, in a Boeing 757, to perform a complex 330-degree downward corkscrew maneuver, descending 7,000 ft in 3 minutes, slamming into the Pentagon at over 500 miles per hour without damaging the lawn, and just so happening to hit the accounting offices the day after Donald Rumsfeld had announced that the Pentagon could not account for $2.3 trillion of missing money.
At Shanksville, Pennsylvania, Flight 93 supposedly crashed into a reclaimed strip mine, whereupon the crater instantly resealed itself, leaving no visible evidence of bodies or large chunks of debris.
WTC7 later became the first and only fire-protected skyscraper in history to collapse solely due to “office fires.”
This narrative, which the public humiliatingly accepted, served to legitimise the subsequent terror wars and the hollowing out of liberal democracy at home.
“Covid-19” Absurdities
The official origin story of “Covid-19” is absurd. As Anthony James Hall wrote in American Herald Tribune as early as March 9, 2020, before the FBI criminalized the website and scrubbed all of its content from the internet in violation of the First Amendment:
A growing perception of disbelief is developing in the face of the idea that all this mayhem started with a few people chomping down on some fatally infected critters purchased at an open-air market. In fact, this explanation is becoming the subject of much satire and ridicule even as the horrifying nature of the unfolding of events is intensifying. (Hall, 2020)
Ehret (2021), similarly, scorns the idea that “Covid-19 arose from a badly cooked mammal that kissed a bat, requiring a total abolition of our constitutional freedoms.” No conclusive evidence of how “SARS-CoV-2” “jumped” from animals to humans was ever provided (van der Pijl, 2020).
According to the principle of viral entropy, viruses become less virulent the further they spread. Therefore, the idea of a super-deadly virus that spreads to all parts of the globe is nonsensical – the stuff of Hollywood movies, like Contagion (2011), whose raison d'être was precisely to plant that absurdity in the minds of the public. When “Covid-19” hit, the public was expected to believe that a new killer disease had streaked across the planet from China without getting any less virulent. “New variants” supposedly made it more virulent as time went on, not less (Hughes, 2024a, pp. 146-148)!
The response to “Covid-19” was absurd. As Agamben (2021, p. 28) wrote with respect to the “lockdowns,” “The false logic is always the same: just as it was asserted in the face of terrorism that freedom should be abolished in order to defend freedom, now we are told that life has to be suspended in order to protect life.”
The idea that shutting down everyday life, putting up plexiglass screens, standing on stickers six feet apart, covering one’s airways with a piece of cloth, etc., could offer any meaningful protection to anyone against “the new Spanish flu,” was preposterous.
But then, the “Covid-19” narrative was not supposed to make sense. At a freedom rally at Trafalgar Square on July 24, 2021, Gareth Icke asked:
Why does Covid spread like wildfire in the summer but stop killing people? [...] Why if lockdowns are about saving lives have they driven millions into poverty? [...] They test millions and millions of healthy people in this country while refusing to treat millions and millions of unhealthy ones. Why, if it's about protecting the elderly do I need a vaccine certificate to go to a nightclub but I don’t need one to go to a bingo hall? [...] It doesn’t make any sense, because it was never about health. It was about control. (Icke, 2021)
Despite the ubiquitous absurdities, however, most people did as they were told, thereby playing their part in the mass humiliation ritual.
The “Covid-19” operation demanded that everyone acquiesce in pseudo-scientific lies (Hudson, 2021; Bell, 2022; Knightly, 2023). The Science™ was premised on “the illogical delusion of the risk of COVID-19” (Scott, 2021a), which was less deadly than many other diseases for which the world had never been turned upside down (Bell, 2022). Ordinary people were expected to adopt that delusion without question; it was “designed to get people to adhere to illogicality [...], to make black appear as white and white as black” (Scott, 2021a).
Artist Kate Wand (2021) observed: “You have to believe everything, no matter how outrageous, ridiculous, how much it contradicts what you heard last week. One of the reasons I think for this, is it’s a way of humiliating the citizens, keeping them bound to their servitude.” For OffGuardian editor Kit Knightly (2021), the “Covid-19” narrative was “insane and illogical” on purpose, because “forcing people to believe your lies, even after you admit you’re lying, is the purest form of power,” whereby victims are motivated purely by the will to comply and not by truth or reason.
Consider the humiliating absurdities the public was expected to swallow with respect to “Covid-19 vaccines.” For the first time in history, it was possible to transmit a disease without having symptoms to those who were “vaccinated” against it. For the first time in history, the ineffectiveness of a drug (the “Covid-19 vaccine”) was blamed on those who have not taken it (the “pandemic of the unvaccinated”). Thus, an American nurse asked at a public hearing “Why do the protected need to be protected from the unprotected by forcing the unprotected to use the protection that did not protect the protected in the first place?” (“Why do the protected need to be protected from the unprotected?,” 2023).
Governments sought to persuade “unvaccinated” people that a “vaccine” will protect them, while simultaneously trying to convince the “double-jabbed” that it no longer protected them and they needed a “booster.” In other words, the less effective a medical treatment is, the more frequently it should be administered.
The public was told that “vaccinated” people become dead ends for the virus and cannot spread it (Choi, 2021), but also that efficacy wanes and the “vaccine” prevents neither transmission nor infection (Loffredo, 2021).
Although the “vaccine” did not stop the spread of the virus, “vaccine passports” purportedly did.
Belief in Absurdities Facilitates Evil
Belief in absurdities is no laughing matter. It leads to acts of inhumanity and evil. Recall the words of Voltaire in 1767:
Certainly anyone who has the power to make you believe absurdities has the power to make you commit injustices. If you do not use the intelligence with which God endowed your mind to resist believing impossibilities, you will not be able to use the sense of injustice which God planted in your heart to resist a command to do evil. Once a single faculty of your soul has been tyrannized, all the other faculties will submit to the same fate. (cited in Torrey, 1961, pp. 277-8)
Over two centuries later, Anthony Daniels made much the same point with respect to Soviet communism: “To assent to obvious lies is in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control” (cited in Fagan, 2020).
Those who believe the absurdities of the official 9/11 narrative, and especially those who leap to defend it, are complicit in all the atrocities committed in its name. “Given the official account of 9/11 is scientifically impossible,” Shayler (2022, p. 13) correctly observes, “there was never any justification in law for the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan to remove the Taliban government,” and the lack of WMD in Iraq meant there was “never any justification in law for the invasion of that country,” either.
Other foreign policy measures that flowed from the absurd official account of 9/11 included torture, extraordinary rendition, arbitrary detention, extralegal drone assassinations, the destabilization of the MENA region, and mass migration.
Domestically, “9/11” led to invasive procedures at airports, ever expanding surveillance, and the cultivation of a climate of terror in which to attack civil liberties, undermine democracy, and scaffold the digital infrastructure of technocracy.
Versluis (2006, p. 143) writes of the history of totalitarianism that
True believers in such a system (fanatics) find in it an easy identity – what they believe to be truth itself, even though it is in fact a conglomeration of lies – and so they are willing, indeed, eager and proud to betray not only their basic humanity but even life itself.
During “Covid-19,” the conglomeration of lies masquerading as Truth was called The Science™, and in its name mass atrocities were perpetrated (Broudy et al., 2022).
For example, The Science™ legitimised “lockdowns,” which predictably (Stringham, 2020; Bhattacharya & Packalen, 2020; “A Doctor a Day Letter,” 2020) caused catastrophic psychological, economic, and social damage (Dettmann et al., 2022; Green & Bhattacharya, 2021; Rancourt et al., 2021; Bardosh, 2023; Harrison, 2023), did nothing to reduce excess mortality (Agrawal et al., 2023), and represented “a likely signature of mass homicide by government response” (Rancourt, 2020).
The lesson is that any society which can be made to believe in absurdities will lack the ability to resist evil. As Margaret Atwood once had one of her characters reflect, “Stupidity is the same as evil if you judge by the results” (1972, p. 31).
A categorical refusal to believe in absurdities is, therefore, indispensable to resisting evil.
The spiritual side to all of this is undeniable, as is the way it works with trauma-based mind control:
Because a people has willingly sacrificed the truth for [...] falsehood in their need for relief from their trauma, they have chosen to be deceived. This choice to be deceived has a great deal of spiritual power to it. They are no longer truth-lovers. It is not enough to come to these people with the truth. They have rejected the truth. They must at some point will to seek the truth again. These people can have all the proof shown to them about the truth, and they will continue to reject it. Their demonic bondage needs to be broken somehow (Wheeler & Springmeier, 2008, p. 96).
This is another apt description of cognitive dissonance (cf. Hughes, 2024a, pp. 248-253). It suggests, however, that the phenomenon is not merely psychological (Festinger, 1957), but spiritual. Societies that turn away from God also turn away from Truth. Easily degraded and humiliated as a result, they become susceptible to Big Lies and find themselves incapable of resisting evil. Atrocity is allowed to flourish.
Conclusion
At one level, the “Covid-19” operation was a mass humiliation ritual, following in a longstanding tradition dating back through “9/11” and the “moon landings” to more easily identifiable forms of ritual humiliation inflicted in the Soviet Union.
Most obviously, it took the form of mask mandates, which stripped those who consented of their dignity in multiple ways, ranging from the slave-like quality of enforced mask wearing historically and the master-slave relationship in BDSM to the self-harm involved in covering one’s airways with a piece of cloth on command for no good reason.
The “Covid-19” humiliation ritual additionally involved getting the public to acquiesce in absurdities, from the official origin story of “Covid-19” and the possibility of a “global pandemic” to the deliberately absurd “counter-measures,” none of which made any medical or epidemiological sense.
Troublingly, as Voltaire warned 258 years ago, those who can be made to believe absurdities can also be made to commit injustices. When entire societies can be made to believe absurdities – as has been the case for the better part of a century now owing to the power of propaganda – then the result is the sanctioning of mass atrocity, as we saw during the “Covid-19” debacle.
In the final analysis, there is a moral and spiritual rot at the heart of Western society. Only a willful refusal to believe in absurdities, backed by the necessary conviction in a correlation between the Good, the True, and the Beautiful, offers any hope of redemption.

You have made some excellent points here. Most people go along with obvious lies. The inescapable conclusion is that humanity today is as easily deceived as was Eve by the serpent. I also recognize that any of us can be deceived, but at what point does deception become willful ignorance? I believe that point is reached directly proportionate to our love for the truth. And sadly, most people profess to love the truth but in so doing they lie to themselves. They only love their truth.
And mask mandates were not just to humiliate those who wore them but to humiliate those of us who refused to wear them. I lost several doctors for daring to even ask a question about the viability of these stupid masks. And one of those doctors actually started an argument with me over my position on the "vaccines". The 6-foot rules were part of that humiliation (especially for the unmasked) which unbelievably now 5 years later my clinic is trying to enforce this through their stupid signs to sit 6 feet apart.
