Heck of a job you've given yourself there, David, but it will be worth it for the independence. Substack was almost certainly designed as a holding pen from the start.
Hello David, Best wishes for your incredible work, and your next steps towards freedom of independent speech! I appreciate your bold steps to separate from Substack, and to have your own independent website. I hope that you have wisely chosen a website hosting service, so that you can express yourself freely without having your website cancelled. It has been shocking to watch the machinations of the "censorship industrial complex", particularly over the past six years. With gratitude for your work and courage, Pamela

I am still working on a mailing list solution for free members at the new site, but it shouldn't take long to get that working once I finished migrating paid subscribers.
Hello David- Quick question- How do we ensure that we still pay the subscription fees to you, during and after your transition away from Substack towards your new website?
You should be directly migrated by the end of the month. Your subscription will continue exactly as it was, only instead of being linked to Substack it will be linked to davidahughes.net.
Sorry if you have already answered this question. I will check your recent articles to see if you have already advised your subscribers about this issue. Best wishes for 2026! Thanks from Pamela

Thanks, Gayle.
At this stage, it just feels like a tremendous amount of hard work.
But hopefully it will bear fruit in time.

I subscribed on your website after recently allowing my substack version to expire. Looking forward to more, professor!
